Leslie P. Rudman, Esq.
Leslie P. Rudman, Esq. attended the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and graduated Cum Laude in three years in 1972. While at the University of Michigan, Ms. Rudman achieved the William J. Branstrom Award for Academic Excellence. She then attended Hofstra University School of Law where she finished eighth overall in her class and graduated with distinction in 1975. During law school in 1974, Ms. Rudman interned with the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. Thereafter, she worked in the general practice of law including commercial litigation as well as trusts, estates and probate proceedings. She then became an appellate attorney with the Nassau County Legal Aid Society where she argued cases in the appellate courts of the State of New York including the Court of Appeals as well as in the federal courts. She successfully appealed hundreds of cases, including those for ineffective assistance of counsel and drug possession. After working at Legal Aid, Ms. Rudman worked as a Nassau County Assistant District Attorney in trial litigation and was in the felony bureau. As a prosecutor, she conducted plea bargaining negotiations as well as trial work. Her cases included criminal mischief, assault, drugs, burglary and robbery. She has been in private practice for criminal defense since 1983 and has represented private clients in all areas of criminal law including violations, misdemeanors and felonies. She also represents clients in all traffic matters in every court of New York State. She recently won an acquittal after trial on a highly-publicized case. Ms. Rudman is also currently on the Nassau County 18b Assigned Counsel Defender Plan and has vast experience in every aspect of criminal justice and traffic law.
Jacob A. Rudman, Esq.
Jacob A. Rudman, Esq. attended the University of Miami and graduated in 2006. After several years in sports broadcasting and later as the underwriting manager for a private automobile insurance company, Mr. Rudman attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida where he attained Dean’s List honors. During his time in law school, Mr. Rudman volunteered for the Dade County Legal Aid Society. After graduating law school in 2014, Mr. Rudman moved back to New York and passed the New York State Bar Exam in July 2014. From August 2014 until April 2015, he served as legal assistant to Leslie P. Rudman, Esq. and was instrumental in helping Ms. Rudman win an acquittal for her client on a highly publicized criminal case in Nassau County. After interning for Leslie P. Rudman, Esq., Mr. Rudman was admitted to the New York State Bar in April 2015. Throughout his law school and professional career, he has acquired the knowledge and experience necessary to understand the criminal justice system and has now put that into his practice of law. In addition, Mr. Rudman has experience in reviewing contracts, contract disputes, collection matters and other civil matters. He is also an active member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.
