BEST TIME TO CALL:

Speeding tickets are serious moving violations and can result in not only fines but also insurance premium increases and New York State DMV assessments.  If you have received a speeding ticket, the best way to avoid these and other consequences is by working with a knowledgeable attorney.

At the Law Office of Jacob A. Rudman, our lawyers work hard to find the best possible outcome in your specific situation.  We represent clients in all courts in Nassau County, Suffolk County and the five boroughs. Over our firm’s history, we have successfully represented people throughout the region, helping them keep their driving privileges and limiting the number of points on their license.

In every case, our mission is to get the ticket reduced or dismissed.  Our goal is to get zero points on your driving record.  We can save you money on fines, assessments and increased insurance premiums.  The cost in the long run will be dramatically less if you hire us.

We Know the Law and How it Applies to Your Situation

Under New York Law, if you are convicted of three speeding offenses within 18 months, your driver’s license will be suspended or revoked for six months.  Speeding tickets in New York State are codified under the Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 1180b.  Depending on how many miles over the limit you are charged with violating, the points on your license vary:

  • 1-10 miles per hour over the limit = 3 points
  • 11-20 miles per hour over the limit = 4 points
  • 21-30 miles per hour over the limit = 6 points
  • 31-40 miles per hour over the limit = 8 points
  • 41 miles per hour or more over the limit = 11 points and automatic license suspension

In some cases, speeding violations can turn into reckless driving charges, especially for individuals involved in street racing or speed contests.

Our law firm can help you fight your speeding ticket and all other traffic violations.  Don’t plead guilty without consulting with us first.
